Dr. Malloy's journey into periodontics wasn't a straight line. However, given that he was always surrounded by the influence of dentistry, the allure of combining his passion for helping people with his scientific curiosity led him to his calling. LANAP, or Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure, is a groundbreaking dental technique designed to treat moderate to severe gum disease in a minimally invasive way. Unlike traditional gum surgery, which often involves cutting and suturing.
Initial Periodontal Therapy
Scaling and root planing is a nonsurgical periodontal treatment that is typically recommended when periodontal disease is diagnosed. Gingivitis is the first stage of gum disease, affects only the gum tissues, and is completely reversible if detected and treated early.
